Voltage Divider
A voltage divider is a simple electrical circuit made of two resistors connected in series.
It makes it possible to divide an input voltage into an output voltage proportional to the ratio of the resistors.
The formula for the output voltage ( ) is the following : Vout=Vin×R1+R2R2
where:
- and are the resistors used.
This setup is useful for reducing an electrical voltage to a level suitable for an electronic component or for measuring voltages with a sensor.
